How we look after your information

In plain words: what we collect, why, and where it goes. Last updated 13 October 2026.

What we collect

  • When you ask for a free trial: your email address, and your programme or organisation if you give it.
  • When you use Untangle: the name on your invite, the gender you choose (some clients relate to their therapist differently by gender), everything you write in sessions, your notes, the feedback and progress Untangle produces from them, and anything you send us with the Feedback button.
  • On this website: what’s typed into “What do you want to practise?”, with nothing that identifies who typed it.
  • Cookies: only to keep you signed in and remember your settings, such as light or dark colours. No advertising or tracking cookies.

What we use it for

  • To run your sessions, and give you feedback and progress on them.
  • To send you your invite link, and, if you’re from a training programme, to follow up about a pilot.
  • To improve Untangle, for example deciding which clients to build next.

We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising.

Who can see your sessions

You, and the Untangle team, who look at sessions to improve the clients and the feedback. If you use Untangle through a training programme, the people running your programme may also see your sessions and progress.

Where it’s kept

  • Our database and the servers that run Untangle are in Sydney, Australia (Supabase and Vercel).
  • To play the client and write feedback, what you write in a session is sent to Anthropic (in the United States), whose AI model Claude does that work. Anthropic doesn’t use it to train its models.
  • Invite emails are sent through Resend.

Please don’t use real client information

The clients in Untangle are simulated. None of them are real people. Don’t type in anything that could identify a real client, or anyone else.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your sessions while your invite is in use, so you can look back at them and see your progress. Ask us at any time and we’ll delete your invite and all your sessions.
